For families cruising with young children, Disney Cruise Lines is a no-brainer. It combines all the fun of visiting exotic ports of call in a luxury-laden, floating hotel with all of the fun and excitement Disney brings with its creative storylines and dearly loved characters.
Parents will love the convenience of non-stop entertainment for the kids and the luxury of a cruising vacation. In 2020, the company will continue to meet the highest expectations of creativity and family time by bringing even more Disney-themed fun to the high seas.
Two new themed events will occur on cruises operating between January and March. The upcoming Star Wars Day at Sea and the Marvel Day at Sea, happening on Disney’s Magic and Fantasy ships, will give fans of the Star Wars and Marvel Comics franchises a chance to spend a day at sea with their favorite characters. Experiences include special showings of the movies, character meet-and-greets, live shows and plenty of Star Wars– and Marvel-themed activities for the whole family. There will also be themed food and parties featured on these special event days and the Star Wars Day at Sea will culminate in a special fireworks show on the water.
Disney itineraries also get an upgrade in 2020 with a brand-new port in New Orleans. Beginning in 2020, Disney Cruise Line passengers have the opportunity to sail from this fascinating city on week-long cruises to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean islands, as well as a two-week cruise through the Panama Canal.
Disney Cruises will also return to Hawai’i in 2020 with two special cruises, including a nine-night cruise in April from Vancouver to Honolulu, and a 10-day return trip in May.
This year’s new ports and itineraries, along with fan favorite experiences and themes, will make Disney Cruise Lines an even more popular family vacation option. It is this constant re-imagining and these creative new experiences that give Disney a leg up from other cruise lines when it comes to family vacations.
