Age Specific / Baby

You may know the popular, bubbly Japanese cartoon character Hello Kitty and her famous little bow, kitty face and perpetually third-grade outfit — but you haven’t seen Hello Kitty until you’ve flown EVA Air’s cartoon-clad aircraft.

The Hello Kitty Hand-in-Hand Jet was just added to the weekly route from Los Angeles (LAX), allowing North American families an opportunity to fly the whimsical Boeing 777-300ER to Taipei (TPE) — adding a little color to the 14-hour flight.

You’ll know your plane has arrived when you see Hello Kitty and friends, Little Twin Stars, Pompom Purin, Bad Badtz-Maru, Cinnamoroll and Dear Daniel, all linking hands on the exterior of the plane. Expect a few kids and families pressed up against the class at your gate checking out the fun plane, as this is design tends to stand out. Hello Kitty may be a third-grade student herself, but she appeals to kids and young teens alike with her now iconic apparel and accessories.

The fun of flying EVA Air’s Hello Kitty Jet doesn’t end at the colorful exterior. Guests expect a specialized airport check-in experience with imaginative boarding passes, luggage tags, stickers and quirky check-in.

Once your family boards, the pleasant cabin crew — dressed in light-green aprons and fun uniforms — greet you and help you find your seat. Once settled, enjoy a Hello Kitty-centric service experience.

Enjoy music and a film with Hello Kitty headsets, pillows and headrest covers. Need some tissues, hand sanitizer, utensils, snacks or hand lotion? No problem — the crew can provide a slew of Hello Kitty-themed amenities.

The Hand-in-Hand Jet isn’t the only cartoon-inspired aircraft EVA Air offers. In fact, it has seven. Check out the variety of special aircraft designs before your next long-haul flight to Chicago (ORD) or Los Angeles. Enjoy a flight on Celebration Flight, Joyful Dream, Shining Star or Friendship Bows next time you want to add a touch of whimsy to your trip.
