Multigenerational

Collecting travel data from vacationers 18–35 years old, Hilton Hotels and Resorts and travel technology partner LikeWhere determined the top travel destinations and trends for young sightseers. After collecting crowd-sourced research from millennial-aged travelers, LikeWhere created a list of the highest-scoring locales based on a telling list of criteria, including architecture, heritage, diversity, culture, local cuisine, available activities and, of course, Instagram-worthiness.

LikeWhere’s travel research focuses on collecting meaningful, honest feedback from customers, travelers and individuals in order to enhance brand awareness. With the collection of data from 2,000 participants detailing their urban travel preferences, combined with 12 social media influencer profiles in the United Kiingdom, United Arab Emirates and Germany — reaching more than 3.5 million people — travelers can easily add these seven Urban Wonders of the World to their must-visit lists.

Louvre, Abu Dhabi

A new sight to see, but definitely holding its own against a long list of urban wonders, the Louvre, Abu Dhabi is already one of the grandest art galleries in the world. Rotating exhibits and impressive exhibits from world-renowned talents await inside the incredible architectural wonder of the building itself.

Sydney Opera House, Sydney

One iconic image you know on sight: Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia. Travelers ranked this stop high on the list thanks to the surrounding city attractions, local culture and impossibly beautiful outlook of the nearby Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Tsukiji Fish Market, Tokyo

In the food-centric travel world we live in, local and immersive experiences reign supreme. With this fact in mind, it’s no wonder a food and flea market would score so high. Tokyo’s world-famous Tsukiji Fish Market is a tourist staple and checks all the boxes for the modern traveler. Expect a new-and-improved look with renovations beginning this month, including a nearby relocation.

Camden Market, London

London is already a millennial wonderland with incredible culture, sights, shopping and nightlife, but add in a — you guessed it — flea market and it lands a secure spot on the charts. London’s Camden Market has a personality all its own and has always attracted a young crowd.

The Bund, Shanghai

Known locally for its historic buildings and impressive views, The Bund in Shanghai boasts a mile-long walk of more than 50 historic waterfront attractions. Walk along the living history, snapping pictures and embracing the local culture.

Temple Street Night Markets, Hong Kong

Clearly markets are king with another topping the list. Temple Street Night Markets in Hong Kong offer local goods, crafts, cuisine and a vibrant mix of cultures — the perfect mix of shopping, dining and photo ops.

Albertina, Vienna

History and art draw the crowd to Vienna’s Albertina, one of the most photographed destinations in the city. Residing in what was once the Habsburg Palace, Albertina is Vienna in a nutshell — old-world luxury, undeniable beauty and loaded with historical significance.
