Kids

So you want to get everyone away for a week or so? Grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles? If you’ve ever attempted to plan a big family getaway before, you likely know there are many aspects of travel you can find to squabble about, from the best hotels to stay in, the best neighborhood in a destination to stay in, the cost of the activities you’re planning and everything in between.

However, when you book a stay at an all-inclusive resort, it takes a bit of the argument fuel away. Suddenly, everyone’s paying the same amount per person for all the food and fun they could want. There’s a range of activities to be enjoyed and so much to do that everyone can be as connected (or not) as they want. It just makes everything a bit easier.

If you want to book a multigenerational getaway and you think an all-inclusive resort might be a good pick for you, here are a few in the Caribbean to pitch to the family.

Hard Rock Riviera Maya

If you think the Hard Rock brand has nothing to offer kids, think again. The Hard Rock Riviera Maya in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, offers some pretty cool kid-friendly amenities and services, like a kids pool, kids menus, children’s programming and more. Plus, for all the older travelers in your bunch, you can take advantage of the fully stocked minibars in every room and a nearby action-sport facility with indoor skiing and snowboarding.

Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort and Spa

The kids get their own clubs and lounges (depending on age group), lots of activities and even babysitting services, while you get awesome luxury at every turn. Plus, for multigenerational travelers who want to stay all together, you can get a two- or three-bedroom suite, or a multi-bedroom villa with its own butler service.

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa

This St. Lucia property gives you access to the island’s largest waterpark, CocoLand, with three water slides, a massive lazy river and a water playground. There are also other family-friendly activities available, such as paintball, rock climbing, zip lining and even a petting zoo. If you want to get away from the kids for a while, there’s an adults-only portion of the resort, so you can swim in peace or enjoy a spa treatment.

Franklyn D. Resort & Spa

Did someone say nanny service? This Jamaican resort includes it in your room rate, free of charge. The kids will have plenty of fun with or without the adults, though, at the playground, waterslide, kids pool or kids  club. There’s also a special kids buffet. Plus, the guestrooms are huge and perfect for crews with up to three children.
