Mama. Dada. Namaste? An activity for the littlest guests at a luxury property on the Mexican Riviera gives new meaning to the child’s pose position. Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, a 267-suite AAA Five Diamond resort located between Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta, is now offering a new Baby Yoga class. Included in the room rate, the activity is designed to let moms and dads bond with their infant while improving flexibility and inner calm. Yoga is also believed to help improve a baby’s fine motor skills, stimulate muscle and nerve development, boost the immune system, encourage a regular sleep schedule, aid in digestion, and relieve gas, constipation and symptoms of colic.

Parents who book the resort’s baby yoga class also get discounts on baby’s first haircut, which comes with pampering and a take-home certificate to mark the milestone, and a Sunrise Massage. The latter is a 25-minute experience designed for babies and toddlers aged 1–3 and helps them learn to differentiate textures and sounds and promote sensory and cognitive development while listening to classical music from Mozart.

Other niceties at the resort make traveling with small children as easy and effortless as possible. An on-site Baby Concierge coordinates requests like setting up a crib in the suite along with attention-stimulating Mexican toys, providing baby floats for the pool and beach, purchasing baby clothes if you didn’t quite pack enough and sourcing gentle bath and shampoo gels for delicate skin. The Baby Concierge also presents parents at check-in with a menu of gourmet purées prepared by Executive Chef Guillaume Morance, including Pio Pio Purée with chicken breast, carrots, zucchini and chicken broth; Moo Purée with beef tenderloin, potato, sweet potato and vegetable broth; and Little Shark Purée with white fish, celery, leeks, mushroom and vegetable broth. Also available is a vegan purée with white rice, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and vegetable broth; Vegetarian Bunny Purée with carrots, corn and vegetable broth; and dessert Mothers Happiness Purée with apple, pear, peach and rice pudding.

And if your baby will be celebrating his or her first birthday while at the resort, you can book the Mi Primer Fiesta Experience, an inclusive birthday bash for little ones. The inclusive party starts with a My First Haircut Service, followed by a relaxing and hydrating foot and hand massage at the resort’s Kid Spa. The resort’s garden is the setting for the party itself, filled with decorations, food and gifts, including a selection of piñatas, candy bar with cupcakes and mini cookies, balloons or flowers, a birthday cake made with Mexican flavors, special entertainment show or mini foam party for children, and a personalized serving kit for the baby.

Being little on vacation just got a whole lot more fun.
