Cape Town International Kite Festival in Muizenberg, South Africa: October
Known as the largest kite festival in Africa, the Cape Town International Kite Festival welcomes more than 20,000 visitors each year. Enjoy kite-making lessons, food and fun for all ages, live entertainment and a crafting corner on the lawn of the Zandvlei Nature Preserve.
This event is particularly special — incredible location aside — as all ticket sale proceeds go to Cape Mental Health, a non-profit organization supporting mental health and wellness in the community. Typically taking place Oct. 27–28, the kite festival will announce specific dates soon, but get ahead on planning and shoot for mid-October.
