While Generation Alpha, those born between 2010 and 2024, is the youngest set of family travelers, a new survey of them conducted by Beaches Resorts (and facilitated, of course, by their parents) shows this generation already influences family travel decisions and more.
Gen Alpha is projected to become the largest generation in history, with more than 2.8 million people born weekly. As such, travel companies already consider this generation as it’s a projected 2 billion new jetsetters and future spenders.

For the survey, Beaches Resorts surveyed nearly 1,500 adults and parents answered from the perspectives of children ages 0–14. What did the survey find?

- Skip-gen is popular, with 71 percent of Gen Alpha children wanting to travel with grandparents
- 64 percent of families take two or more trips per year, even with young kids
- 55 percent of Gen Alpha would rather partake in activities with their parents on vacation versus with peers
- 70 percent of kids ages 11 and older prefer to spend time with their parents
- 53 percent of Gen Alpha would like to learn to swim on vacation, with other hobbies including learning a new language, how to surf or scuba dive, art and skiing
- Beach is No. 1 with Gen Alpha, followed by theme parks, historical sites, urban cities and natural wonders
