Family vacations can be hectic. From packing up the kids, getting to your destination, unpacking during your stay and repacking when the trip is through, a lot can go wrong and something can fall through the cracks, especially teddy bears.
One feeling parents are all too familiar with is helping a child cope with a lost toy. Whether it was new for the trip or a long-time friend, some kids really need their teddy bears, and VRBO can help you find it.
With VRBO, a home-share company offering a wide variety of accommodations and full-home stays, including cabins, beach houses, apartments and condos, families can feel at home nearly anywhere. With such a strong family clientele, VRBO learned a thing or two about helping families recover belongings.
Ipsos conducted a survey for VRBO that detailed family travel, including kids toys and beloved stuffed buddies. More than half of participants surveyed claimed some sort of stuffed toy or animal is an important part of their child’s vacation. Another 69 percent of surveyed travelers said their child forgot a stuffed animal or left a toy behind on vacation.
Some respondents also admitted to going to great lengths to retrieve their child’s lost toy, including buying a replacement and pretending it was the original (48 percent of surveyed travelers admitted to this solution), while another 21 percent said they launched a social media search to track their kid’s lost toy down. Some parents make up a story as to where the toy went and continue sending postcards from their travels. While these parents get an A for effort, VRBO launched a new system to return lost toys to their rightful owners.
Enter the new VRBO Teddy Bear Service. This new service is VRBO’s promise to return any lost teddy bears children leave behind, by way of phone or email.
Once the families staying with VRBO realize a stuffed toy is missing, even after they get home and unpack, they simply call 1 774 VRBOTDY or email TeddyBearHotline@vrbo.com to report a lost toy, teddy bear or similar and VRBO jumps into action. The home-sharing service takes the reins and hunts down the lost item and sends it home.
The VRBO Teddy Bear Service is already open. Guests can even share their found items on social media with images, #VrboTeddyBearService and @Vrbo.
