Dads do so much for us they deserve to be recognized every day but this June 16 celebrate him on Father’s Day with a special surprise. Try one of these ideas to let him know how much he is appreciated.
Throw a ‘dad’ party. Invite his favorite friends and family members over so he can spend time with them without having to leave the house. If dad usually has to do the barbecuing, order food from his favorite restaurant so he can enjoy his guests and all the attention instead of having to do the cooking.
If your dad doesn’t live near you or with you, plan a surprise trip to see him. The look on his face when you arrive will be priceless and it will make memories that last a lifetime.
Plan a surprise trip to take with him. Take him to one of his favorite places or to someplace on his bucket list. Family trips, no matter how short or long, are always a great way to spend time together and make new memories.
Cities across the country will host events to commemorate dads during Father’s Day weekend so, in addition to surprising him with a trip, check out your destination for a more outside-the-box experience. For example, Los Angeles will host a luxury car show, the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance in Beverly Hills. The iconic street is blocked off for the day to display an amazing collection of new and classic luxury cars. The event is free to attend.
Speaking of cars, what dad isn’t infatuated with them? Give dad an experience he will never forget with a test drive in a luxury car or a race car. Head to a Porsche Experience Center where dad can spend the day behind the wheel. As part of his package he will get a personal instructor for his test drive on a closed track designed specifically to test the limits of these incredible cars. Centers are located in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Birmingham.
For dads who love to fish, take dad to a fishing tournament. These events, often called fishing rodeos, are popular anywhere there’s water to fish in and are a great way for dad to spend the day doing something he loves while spending time with his kids.
