Cruising

Celebrate Halloween a little differently this year onboard Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet of Halloween-themed ships. Bring the kids along for the holiday festivities, offered on select vessels through the month of October.

Pack a costume for you and the kids and set sail on any one of Carnival’s many participating ships, including Sensation, Liberty, Magic, Miracle, Pride, Elation, Fascination, Freedom, Breeze, Dream and Glory.

Check out the four-day Baja Mexico trip onboard Carnival Imagination, Oct. 15–19 for some early Halloween fun. Beginning at $250 per person, the trip departs from Long Beach, while guests enjoy the incredible scenic views along the California coastline to Mexico, and back for a fun and early way to celebrate Halloween with the kids of all ages.

Spend the day sightseeing with the family while planning to dress up later for the family trick or treat along the ship’s promenade. Check out the competition during the costume meet and greet and Halloween Parade in preparation for the pre-Halloween costume contest. Feel free to spectate and check out the various costumes from the sidelines, or jump in and participate.

Adult children 18 and older compete for best costume and join in the Halloween Dance Party. Don’t forget the younger kids with Carnival’s various youth programs providing a kiddie costume contest, dance party and family-friendly games scattered throughout the ship.

Parents and adult children, head to the casino for Halloween-themed events including a Halloween pumpkin carving demonstration. Watch master carvers create pumpkin masterpieces with cocktails, casino entertainment and activities. End the night with Halloween trivia games, festive drinks, desserts and staff participating in the seasonal fun.

Scary movie lovers head to the Dive-In Movies Horror Night at the Carnival Seaside Theater — featured on select ships. Check out the full list of offerings on Carnival’s site for specific ship offerings for more information about films, what to pack and what to expect onboard the spooky sea adventure. Opting for a pre-Halloween trip allows kids an early candy haul, costume test run and amazing family trip to kick off the holiday season.

What not to bring: No toy weapons, real pumpkins or masks will be allowed onboard — so plan your costumes accordingly.
