Holiday at Hotel Husafell like a true Icelander with the new Taste of the Holidays package. Enjoy the best of the season with authentic Icelandic celebrations, fun traditions and natural wonders with the whole family.
Get away with two, or double up for savings for four this holiday season.
Hotel Husafell may be a 4-star hotel known for incredible views and a cozy-meets-luxury atmosphere, but it’s also the only hotel in Iceland dubbed a National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World — making this limited offer all the more appealing for the holiday season.

Available through Dec. 18, guests enjoy overnight accommodations in a double room, tasting menu for two, daily breakfast, thermal hot-tub access, WiFi, parking and all taxes with additional tours available. Book optional excursions to any one of the beloved local glaciers, lava caves and various outdoor fun and activities for all ages and interests — preferably cold weather-leaning travelers.
Enjoy the great outdoors by day, exploring the ruggedly beautiful wild terrain and nearby ice caves, all while working up an appetite for a hearty menu back at the hotel.
Warm up by the open gas fireplaces and cozy, or hygge, atmosphere of the hotel’s seasonal décor and Icelandic spirit. Sit on fur-covered stools watching the Northern Lights dance outside next to the famously alluring Langjokull glacier. Now that you’re all warmed up, dig in! After all, it’s a food-centric holiday package.

Available through Nov. 23, Hotel Husafell offers a fall menu of wild game and uniquely Icelandic dishes. Indulge in a five-course menu consisting of local favorites, from smoked goose breast and duck confit to Ptarmigan soup paired with locally sourced blueberries.
During the colder months, guests enjoy the Jólaseðill Christmas menu. December’s five-course menu includes traditional flavors with a twist, like smoked Icelandic lamb carpaccio, seared scallops and pressed pork belly, all available Nov. 25–Dec. 18.
More Christmas traditions unfold later in the season, specifically Dec. 12–23, when guests enjoy the Shoe in the Window tradition — a local favorite. Much like the milk-and-cookies fun we enjoy in America, this Icelandic holiday mainstay features a fun treat from Jolasvein Santa Claus along with a letter describing the Yule Lad of the day.

Traveling to Iceland without seeing the Northern Lights would be nearly impossible. While Hotel Husafell’s prime location in West Iceland is deep in the country, visibility is essentially unencumbered. Sitting just a short walk from the Langjokull Glacier and some of the region’s most sought-after natural wonders and outdoorsy destinations, the hotel boasts three Aurora Borealis sightings per week during the winter. Needless to say, Hotel Husafell offers a front-row seat to natural beauty and even includes free automated Aurora Wake-Up Calls for guests determined to see the lights, even if they occur in the middle of the night.
Package prices begin at $197 per person, based on double occupancy, but check out other offers on the hotel’s website.
