Multigenerational

The Las Vegas Strip is so vibrant and exciting, it may seem hard to believe a thriving city exists all around it. While visitors are often allured by the glitz and glamour of the Strip and its exciting restaurants, casinos, clubs and entertainment venues, for family travelers looking for a great meal focused on the food rather than the excitement of celebrity chefs and fancy resorts, ditch the Strip and head to one of these local favorites.

Honey Salt

About 20 minutes west of the Strip, find yourself in Summerlin, a peaceful suburb home to numerous amazing restaurants that make the drive well worth it. Honey Salt, a farm-to-table eatery, serves locally sourced comfort foods. This restaurant is one of the neighborhood’s standouts. Open daily for lunch and dinner, menu offerings include classics like burgers, fried chicken and meatloaf, along with upscale dishes like caramelized sea scallops and lobster mac ‘n cheese.

Other Mama

Located in Spring Valley, a neighborhood just west of the Strip, this raw bar is hidden away inside an unassuming strip mall. Despite the low-key exterior, everything from the vibe to the fresh, creative food and impressive wine, cocktail and sake list grabs the attention of locals. Open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, Other Mama offers a seafood menu exploring culinary techniques and flavor combinations for something more of an experience than a mere meal.

District One

Las Vegas Chinatown, also known as Chinatown Vegas, is home to a myriad of restaurants pushing the limits of traditional cuisines by elevating techniques and flavors. The result? Eateries like District One, which offers a Vietnamese fusion menu featuring unique items such as a whole grilled squid, sea snail with lemongrass broth and oxtail pho, become popular eateries. Creative cocktails like a coconut mojito and delicious desserts, like the coconut ice cream served in a coconut, round out the incredible menu.
