The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Card recently launched BoldFamilyTravel.Chase.com, an interactive, online resource allowing families to plan future travel together. The launch followed the Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Card Survey of parents and grandparents that revealed most parents believe children are important resources for planning family vacations and that one-third of parents don’t currently involve their children in planning but would like to.
Engage the whole family in travel planning with BoldFamilyTravel.Chase.com’s interactive and educational resources. Families can learn about various destinations and the types of vacations they can enjoy. The website was created in partnership with Dr. Jennifer Hartstein, family psychologist. Hartstein provided tips on empowering children across age groups, preferences and needs so everyone can participate in the travel planning process.

The research also revealed 48 percent of respondents find it challenging to choose a destination. On the website, the interactive vacation profile builder, VACAVATAR, allows each family member to build their “vacation self” with accessories, clothing and scenery. Once the family is complete, VACAVATARs generate a list of Marriott Bonvoy hotel properties in destinations that align with the family’s vacation preference. The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Card Survey also revealed 85 percent of parents anticipate traveling domestically in the next 12 months and almost half said they would take a road trip or stay in a hotel within the next six months. Half agreed they are likely to use a vacation profiling tool for their next trip. TRUE Global Intelligence conducted an online survey this summer, among 1,000 American women and men, 21–75 years of age who self-identify as parents with a household income of $75,000 or more, taking family vacations at least once a year and having stayed in a hotel two times or more in the past 18 months.
“Traveling together as a family is the perfect time to create memories and connect with those who matter most. As we enter a new year and look forward to traveling again, the optimism, anticipation and joy of planning a trip is an excellent way to bond as a family,” said Matt Schlitz, General Manager Marriott CoBrand Cards at Chase.

To help make your next family trip a reality consider the Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Card, the no annual fee travel rewards card that lets you say “yes” to visiting more places more often. With 3x points on purchases at more than 7,000 properties in the Marriott Bonvoy program, the hardest part will be deciding where to go first.

Apr 17, 2025Experience the Night Sky Like Never Before in Oregon’s Outback
I’ve looked up at the night sky almost every night of my life and have always been fascinated by the way the experience changes from day to day and place to place. But on recent family travel to Oregon, I got to experience it like never before in the Oregon Outback. I was staying at the lovely Brasada Ranch in Powell Butte (not far from Bend) and, as the day came to a close, my group boarded a van with Wanderlust Tours and began the journey into a region of the Oregon desert known as the Oregon Outback.
