Age Specific / Adult Children

No matter how old your kids are, having a mother-daughter spa day is probably one of the most relaxing things a mother-daughter duo can do together. With Waldorf Astoria properties all over the world, making a special trip to one of its world-class spas is a great way to spend a day with your daughter.

Twelve Waldorf Astoria properties are equipped with spas. Of the 12, each has slightly different programming outside of the signature Waldorf Astoria facial treatment. The staples, like full-body massages, couples massages, facials and other treatments, are always going to be around. Each of the properties, however, offers something different for guests as well.

For adult mother-daughter duos, Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is an excellent choice. The spa in the Las Vegas property includes nine single treatment rooms, steam rooms, hammam, laconium and a vitality pool. Specifically for women, the spa has rhassoul and relaxation lounges.

Arrive for your treatments about 15 minutes before your appointment. After the treatment, spend time taking in the spa’s facilities. When you have both had your fill, check out the beauty salon and Chinese foot spa before departing.

Waldorf Astoria Chicago offers relaxation rooms, a lap pool, a eucalyptus steam and sauna and a state-of-the-art health club. Chicago also offers in-room services in case you don’t want to use the entirety of the spa and are only in the market for a single treatment.

The spa at Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead is a little more low-key than those of Las Vegas and Chicago. The spa includes 13 treatment rooms and gender-separated facilities like vitality pools, a dry sauna, steam rooms and relaxation lounges. There is also a saline lap pool open for all swimmers.

Some Waldorf Astoria properties naturally have more options than others. Waldorf Astoria is separated from its competitors by quality. No matter which property or spa you visit, it is guaranteed to be a beautiful and relaxing time. Hotel guests have access to all of the spa facilities as part of their room rate, so if you are taking a mother-daughter trip, make sure to stay at a Waldorf Astoria to make use of the incredible spa facilities.

Piemonte Albergo dell’Agenzia: “Slow Food” Adventure

The wonderful thing about Italy, which evolved from a land of many kingdoms to a unified country in the 19th century, is its buildings have transformed into boutique hotels with fascinating past lives that guests can still explore and appreciate. Whether former farm houses, monasteries, castles or full-on estates, the stays not only provide atmospheric lodging and wonderfully executed regional food, but a means to immerse oneself into a different way of life — be it one of royalty or a simple existence living off the land.

Host Your Next Event in Urban Wine Country

While urban wine country might sound like an oxymoron, it’s actually a reality at the stunning City Vineyard in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood. The water-side venue is the perfect host for your next event — whatever that may be, from 20 to 200 guests and from cocktail party to plated dinner.

Why Train Travel?

As a fan of train travel, I often choose a ride on rails over a drive or flight, especially in Europe, where I always relish the high-speed trains. In Tokyo, I once appreciated a speedy, efficient and easy-to-understand experience; but, speed isn’t the only appealing aspect of train travel. From Venice to London, on the Venice Simplon Orient Express, we traveled through the coastal cliffs of the Cinque Terra and dined in formal opulence; from Whistler to Vancouver on the Rocky Mountaineer, we sipped tea while viewing the spectacular scenery.
