If you haven’t been to Music City yet or are just looking for an excuse to go back, this summer festival is the perfect occasion. Plan for a family vacation to Nashville during the annual SummerFest celebration, produced and provided by Gaylord Opryland Resort. Guests of the hotel and city visitors enjoy summer fun during the resort’s seasonal celebration lasting all summer long, May 25–Sept. 3.
During the annual celebration, Gaylord Opryland Resort offers spa specials and upscale dining options as well as live music, poolside events and uniquely Southern entertainment during the Music, Magic and Memories event. New this year is the added synchronized water performance program, held in the resort’s impressive Delta Atrium.
Get out and about in the resort, participating in a family scavenger hunt through the resort’s indoor gardens focused solely on Tennessee trivia, or hop on a boat and learn all about the resort’s haunted history and interesting folklore during the Music City-themed cruise along the resort’s indoor river.
Between the pool parties, live music, resort-based events and non-stop lineup of family fun, SummerFest has a little something for all ages, all summer.

Really lean into the down-home country theme and head to the Hootenanny Hoedown, a family-friendly bash. Hit the dance floor for some line dancing and limbo while the kids sing karaoke. Opt for a free family art tour and pool party or add on a special event like Build A Bear Workshop sessions.
Let the aspiring chefs learn from the masters and award-winning on-site chefs during Junior Chefs Camp. Your little chefs learn some tricks of the trade before walking away with a new skill and their own chef hat and apron.
Of course no trip to Nashville would be complete without music, and lots of it. Enjoy live performances by local artists at the resort, The Opry Backstage Grill next door and explore downtown during a show at the Wildhorse Saloon.
Just a short walk away from your resort, the Grand Ole Opry is a world-famous venue and must-see while in Nashville. Make a day of it taking a tour or seeing a performance with the family. Take a ride on one of the largest showboats in the country, the General Jackson Showboat, before getting some obligatory barbecue in downtown Nashville.
