Although we are just getting into the swing of things this spring and summer, fall lovers will be pleased to hear, there is a new family mountain house in town. Opening this September, The Glen House is an all-new mountain getaway tucked away in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
Located at the highest summit in the Northeast, it’s safe to say the new 68-room hotel will offer spectacular views. Many of the guestrooms will have balconies facing the 6,288-foot peak, high windows and various scenic points throughout the hotel, offering a blend of modern luxury, classic mountain-house charm and the great outdoors.
Stop in the mountain house restaurant, The Notch Grille, serving casual American cuisine in a family-friendly setting for all meals of the day. Step outside for fresh air and a meal with a view of Mt. Washington during the warmer months, or cozy up inside with a cocktail at the bar and lounge.
Enjoy the comforts of home, rustic ambiance and elevated service and offerings during your stay. Take advantage of Glen House amenities including the fitness center and swimming pool. Don’t forget to include your pup while planning your family trip this fall, as The Glen House will be dog friendly.

Located nearby along the Mt. Washington Auto Road, guests can easily head out on a scenic adventure with Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center. The recreation hub offers year-round activities catering to every level, from light walks and hikes to trail biking, white water kayaking and fly fishing in the summer.
While visiting this fall and winter, head out with the family on a Nordic skiing excursion, snowshoeing, snow tubing and winter tours up the mountain boasting some of the best panoramic views in the Northeast.
Just a 30-minute drive from North Conway, The Glen House has been designed for energy efficiency and geo-thermal, providing heating, cooling and electricity with the help of solar power and being carbon neutral.
The Glen House may not be officially open yet, but it is already taking reservations and showcasing a wide variety of family-friendly attractions and interests. Get a sneak peek of the property here and plan your fall-foliage viewing early.
