A wide array of hotels opened up this past summer and more are in the works. If you’re planning a fall or winter trip and want to check out a new property, try one of these family-friendly options that offer luxury for the entire crew.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island
The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island opened in March as the only resort on that particular Seychelles island and the second Four Seasons property in the Seychelles. Kids amenities include an outdoor playground, play pavilion, relaxation rooms and a dedicated kids program. Babysitting services are also available. Nature-loving families will particularly like this property, as you have access to a tortoise sanctuary and the property’s Discovery Centre, where you can learn all about the unique Seychelles ecosystem.
andBeyond opened its first property of this kind outside of Africa, with the andBeyond Vira Vira Chile. It’s all about exploration and adventure, perfect for families who want to get out and go during their vacations. Scenic hikes, skiing, horseback riding, fishing, helicopter tours and more await. The children’s adventure program is called the WILDChild program, with lots of opportunities for younger kids to get involved while in a safe environment. The property also offers two interconnecting suites for family stays, or a triple-room option in the villa or the five-bedroom hacienda.
In Carlsbad, California, this hotel opened in the spring and offers just about everything you could desire for a family-friendly stay all about the kids. There are 250 themed guestrooms and 20 suites, all with a medieval feel that’s, obviously, Lego-centric. With plenty of activities available right there at the hotel, your kids will never want to leave.
In Orlando, enjoy this new hotel by Loews Hotels and Resorts during your next theme park excursion. This property hardly looks like something you’d find at a theme park, though. It’s set in a 16-story glass tower and offers 600 guestrooms, along with 13 themed suites. A rooftop bar and grill offers views of the surrounding area.
Opened in July, this new Great Wolf Lodge property provides everything you’ve come to expect from the brand. It’s the 17th water park resort in the brand’s portfolio and includes not just the indoor water park but also an arcade, ropes course, rock climbing wall and mini golf course.
