Niagara Parks Power Station offers visitors a unique, interactive experience. Located on the Canadian side of the Niagara River, the once-dormant power station features all-day attractions where visitors learn how the hydropower station used the power of Niagara Falls to generate electricity.
During the day, visitors can take guided or self-guided tours of the Niagara Power Plant interior. The attraction features artifacts, installations and interactive exhibits describing how the power plant worked.
The station’s newest attraction, “Currents: Niagara’s Power Transformed,” is a one-of-a-kind nightly immersive experience. The light show begins each night at 6:30 p.m. and runs hourly on the half hour. The program runs about 30 minutes in length. It features a sensory experience reimagining the power plant’s machinery using imagery, color and music. The show takes place across three acts. The first act shows the geological creation of Niagara Falls. Act two displays the inception of the station’s machinery. The show closes with the third act as the station comes to life around you.
Adult admission for Niagara Parks Power Station costs $40 for daytime access and “Currents,” or $30 for just “Currents.” Admission for children costs $26 for both and $19.50 for just “Currents.”
