Norwegian Cruise Line has spent this Military Awareness Month (along with every other month) paying a special homage to our troops through great deals and a partnership with an incredible cause that works to recognize the sacrifices they and their families make — Honor and Remember. The organization recognizes military families by paying tribute to all military lives lost, both in active duty and as a result of service.

Honor and Remember created a specially designed flag, the Honor and Remember Flag, gifted to families of soldiers who lost their lives during active duty or as a result of their service. Currently, the organization works to get national recognition for this flag through adoption on the congressional, state and community levels. Honor and Remember has a special place in the hearts of everyone at NCL, including the cruise line’s president, David J. Herrera.

“In 2022, we launched Norwegian Cruise Line’s Military Appreciation Program to recognize active service members, veterans and retired military, and their spouses,” said Herrera. Developed for veterans by veterans, this program offers a 10 percent discount on cruise fares for sailings across the NCL fleet.”

Several hundred thousand service members have participated in the program so far, many of whom already sailed aboard the company’s fleet of more than 20 ships. Aside from this regular discount offered to active and retired military passengers, NCL also offers a limited-time special of 35 percent off all Alaska and Europe sailings through Sept. 30, a deal which extends to special onboard experiences and commemorative items.

“Throughout Military Appreciation Month and every day on board our ships, it is our privilege to recognize and honor the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. and Canadian military and their families for their sacrifice,” said Herrera. “Supporting the military community is a passion for NCL and we are proud to partner with a fantastic organization like Honor and Remember which recognizes America’s fallen service members. I am also proud to be a member of the board for Honor and Remember and partnering with this key organization reinforces our continued commitment to all U.S. service members, veterans and their families, anchored on our Military Appreciation Program. As a veteran myself, supporting Honor and Remember as well as uplifting NCL’s Military Appreciation Program is truly special.”

To take advantage of the great deals for military service members and their spouses, simply visit Norwegian Cruise Line’s Military Appreciation page to find out what you may be eligible for. You’ll need a My NCL account, easy and free to sign up for on the website. From there, you’ll not only be able to sign up for special rates, but also navigate the range of cruises the line offers featuring destinations around the globe.

It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from  Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.
