As summer comes to a close and autumn gets underway, family travelers looking for a much-needed vacation will find the perfect combination of comfort and adventure at Union Creek Resort near Oregon’s Crater Lake National Park. This historic resort welcomes families year-round, and with stunning shades of orange, red, and yellow dotting an already captivating landscape, it easily becomes a family favorite for a fall getaway.

The resort offers great lodging options authentic to its surroundings. Choose from one of 17 log cabins, perfect for couples and families, or opt for one of the larger vacation rentals that sleep up to 14 guests. There are also rooms available in the main lodge, all with the comforts of home with an authentic country look and log cabin feel you would expect from a resort located in the middle of the Oregon wilderness.

On-site conveniences like a gift shop, private picnic areas outside of the log cabins and a home-cooking restaurant provide all the creature comforts you need. Because families with furbabies are not to be forgotten, the resort is also pet-friendly, as is Crater Lake National Park. Union Creek Resort helped families get closer to nature in this stunning location since 1922 and is the perfect basecamp for visiting nearby Crater Lake National Park.

From 2,000-foot sheer cliffs to the 700-year-old Douglas Firs populating the old-growth forests, the park offers endless opportunity to get out and explore the park. There are hiking and biking trails for every skill level, bike trails, magnificent waterfalls like Vidae Falls or Plaiknin Falls, and you can even test your fishing skills on the lake.
