The Presidential train once hosted royalty, presidents, heads of state and popes for more than 100 years. Built in the late 1800s, the original railway transported Queen Elizabeth II, Pope Paul VI and served as the Portuguese Royal Train for the court of King D. Luis I. The Presidential retired in 1970, until it was completely restored to its original opulent and luxurious condition in 2010.

Each cabin showcases lavish furnishings transporting guests back over the Presidential’s 160-year legacy. For €500 per client, guests experience four-course gourmet dining with exquisite wine pairings, port wine tastings, exclusive access to Quinta do Vesúvio, preferred cabin seating in the dining car, exclusive gift bags and live music on the return trip. Guests also receive premium rates with partner hotels for accommodations at the end of the nine-hour journey.
