What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than with a little veteran appreciation? Sure, the Fourth of July tends to be about America’s independence and the home of the free by way of cookouts and beach days, but Carnival Cruise Line shows its support with barbecue, comedy and family fun during Humor for Heroes.
Carrying more military personnel, both active and retired, than any other cruise operator in the country, Carnival knows how to show our troops a good time.
Now partnering with Operation Homefront, Carnival boasts a fun lineup of comedians and fun events for the Armed Forces and their families.
Service members rejoice: Your summer vacation just got a lot funnier.
At Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego, Calif., guests enjoy featured comedians including Adam Devine of Workaholics
and Pitch Perfect fame. Devine entertained overseas for the USO several times and will be joined by a few of Carnival’s own Punchliner Comedy Club talent.
With more than 500 service members and their families invited to attend Humor for Heroes, Carnival packs quite a punch when honoring military families.
The special event is just one of several ways Carnival strives to give back to military and their families. Carnival Cruise Line has actually partnered with Operation Homefront for some time and recently donated $25,000 to assist military members and their families through the organization.
Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization, founded in 2002, focusing on the welfare of soldiers and their families. Operation Homefront seeks to help service families thrive and lead lives well beyond just getting by. Approximately 92 percent of Operation Homefront overhead goes to critical financial assistance for service families, housing and family support — everything from chronic, long-term struggles to special needs.
When your family is looking into a cruise option or last-minute summer vacation, keep in mind Carnival boasts 26 vessels operation voyages through Southeast Asia, Cuba, New England, Bermuda, Canada, Alaska, Hawai’i, the Pacific Islands, Bermuda, Australia and New Zealand.
Choose from trips as short as a long weekend or as long as 24 days. Check out the wide variety of excursions available online and feel just a bit better about the cruise line’s efforts for families in needs.
