While a beloved winter activity and Christmastime attraction for many families, Rockefeller Center’s ice skating rink boasts a fun break from the city streets well into springtime, too. Take advantage of end-of-season perks, including bundles and discounts, and enjoy The Rink before skating season comes to close on April 25.
While the kids are on spring break and you are desperate to find ways to keep them busy and entertained during their days off from school, The Rink at Rockefeller Center is a great place to start. Use the limited-time offer and seasonal closing as an excuse to head to New York and enjoy some sightseeing and shopping before spending an hour or two on the rink with the kids. Check times and availability for reservations on The Rink and plan to work up an appetite. It will still be brisk enough to skate in layers, but not quiet cold enough to scare you off the ice.
Part of allure this time of year? Kids skate free every Monday. Families on a budget, or just savvy travelers looking to save on all occasions, kids’ skate rentals and admission will be free through April 22, with an accompanied parent or guardian. Sure, the guardian’s admission and skates will be for a charge, but every bit counts!
During The Rink’s final week, April 18–25, kids skate rentals will still be free, but general admission tickets will not be included. Guests just need to mention “spring break” to get the deal.
Upgrade your family experience to a bundled deal with Afternoon Tea. The Afternoon Tea and Skating package includes a 3:30 p.m. reservation at Rock Center Café, where you and the kids will enjoy a special menu, offering tea sandwiches, desserts and Harvey & Son’s teas. Don’t let the title mislead you, there will be hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream and Lavazza coffee in addition to the gourmet tea. Read the full menu here for dietary information.
After some snacks and beverages, get out on the ice at 4:30 p.m. with fellow skaters. Kids strap on their skates, take a few laps and show off their skills.
The experience is $35 for kids and $45 for adults, and also includes skate rentals and general admission to the rink. Child prices are available for kids 11 and younger and tax and gratuity is not included. The Afternoon Tea package will be available until April 23, so guests are encouraged to book their reservations early.
