The Kensington in London offers a new luxury experience for expecting and new parents. The landmark property is known for its excellent afternoon tea and classic English hospitality and the recently launched experience comes in conjunction with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s impending due date, a nod to the royal couple.
The Kensington partnered with Sarajane Ambrose, founder, Imperial Nannies and Maternally Yours for the new offering. The Kensington-based brand is one of the United Kingdom’s leading nanny and maternity nurse agencies. Founded in 1996, the agencies pair high-end nannies and maternity nurses with discerning parents and have made a name for themselves for their excellent service.
Through the experience, guests have the opportunity to book a two-hour, exclusive, VIP meeting with Ambrose, during which she’ll offer her expert advice on welcoming a new baby into the home. It is open to both hotel guests and non-hotel guests. The topics of conversation can be led by the visiting parents, as Ambrose’s expertise ranges greatly.
The meeting takes place over a London Landmark afternoon tea. This new tea service is inspired by recognizable London landmarks and culinary traditions and is presented on a London Eye-inspired tea stand, alongside a bespoke London map highlighting landmarks. Menu items are named after London architectural marvels such as The Shard, The Gherkin and Big Ben.
The menu includes crab cakes, smoked salmon sandwiches, steak and London ale pie, stilton and broccoli quiche, carrot cake, rhubarb mousse, lemon curd tarts, scones and more. An array of tea time cocktails are also available.
The afternoon tea sessions are an exclusive at The Kensington only and prices start at $265 for a two-hour session. Sessions are subject to availability and can be booked between 12–4 p.m., Monday–Friday.
To book, call 020 7 795 6299 or email.
The London Landmark afternoon tea service can be booked separately for £42 per person, and tea service comes alongside a selection of rare teas. A glass of Champagne can be added to the service for an additional £12.50 each.
