Finding the perfect destination to bring grandparents along on a family vacation can be a bit tricky. You want to make sure everyone gets to do things they enjoy at their own pace, yet still have fun together. The new Grandparents Getaway experience at Velas Vallarta, an all-inclusive beachfront resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, offers just that, with a heavy focus on family bonding and togetherness.
The package includes plenty of family-friendly shared activities, like a teepee dinner on the beach under the stars, a family pickleball clinic and a professional family photo session. There are art classes for the kids (the perfect time to make gifts for the grandparents) and every weekend there is a Sunday Mexican Fiesta with great food and entertainment. Grandparents can have their own suite, and if the family is big enough to book eight suites, grandparents can get theirs for free. There are also included discounts for kids — children aged 4–12 stay free (two per suite) and teens stay for 50 percent off.
The package requires a three-night minimum stay, but it includes gratuities along with transportation to and from the airport, which is a big deal when trying to coordinate things for a large group of people at one time.
The resort is home to several pools, several dining options, tennis courts, a fitness center and a kids club or the little ones (ages 4–12), along with plenty of activities day and night to keep everyone busy. And, of course, there is always the beach for soaking up a little sun and enjoying a swim in Banderas Bay.

Enjoy the best of both worlds when you fly with TAP Air Portugal thanks to the Portugal Stopover program. With the program, TAP passengers, whether traveling for business, leisure or both, can stop in Portugal for up to 10 days at no additional airfare on the way to their final destination. What does this mean for travelers wishing to explore by both land and sea? It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.
