Slated to open March 2, the new Wildlife Rescue Center at the Texas State Aquarium features a 20,000-square-foot space, complete with state-of-the-art tools, interpretive center and multimedia theater. Ever wanted to kayak under the stars? GlowRow invites everyone wanting to fulfill this dream with its new nighttime tours in the Gulf of Mexico. GlowRow’s boats are translucent, illuminated by colorful LED lights, allowing kayakers to better see marine life below.
Yoga enthusiasts can enjoy a new way to decompress and relax with WaterDog. The outdoor fitness studio now offers floating yoga, beach barre and stand-up paddleboard classes.

On Mustang Island lies the all-new Lively Beach, a resort-style condominium. First opened in summer 2020, the property welcomes guests in 2023 with private beach access, studios, two-bedroom suites and a resort-style pool.

This shop opened October 2022 by local drag queen Frankie Reyna and anticipates an exciting year with delicious pastries and handcrafted coffee drinks, available iced and hot. The eatery also features small bites like the signature Hot Cheetos mac and cheese and banana wafer pudding.

Travel insurance company Allianz Partners recently revealed the results of its Top 10 Summer Travel Destinations study, just in time for family travelers looking for some inspiration. The team at Allianz analyzed more than 1.6 million flight itineraries of five–eight days in length booked between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Of those flight itineraries, 73 percent were for domestic trips and 27 percent were for international destinations.
