Travel Tips

Can you name a more iconic duo than Mickey and Minnie Mouse? January 2019 may be the best time for you to get your family to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The Get Your Ears On: A Mickey and Minnie Celebration invites guests to celebrate the famous mouse couple in the largest celebration Disneyland has ever seen — saying something for the magical world.

The dynamic duo will be the guests of honor during the year-long celebration, commemorating 90 magic-filled years. All Disney parks will celebrate Minnie and Mickey Mouse’s 90 years together throughout 2019, but Disneyland holds a fun lineup of parties and events perfect for all ages.

Disneyland was the original theme park, opening in 1955. Both of its parks, Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland, bring the party fun in 2019. Each theme park offers easy access to all the dining, shopping and nightly fun of the Downtown Disney District, as well as incredible luxury resort offerings — but you can plan your stay later; for now, let’s focus on the party details.

Mickey’s Mix Magic

Beginning Jan. 18, 2019, Disneyland kicks off the celebration with lights and a bang as part of a  high-energy projection show. Enjoy a family-fun dance party with DJ Mickey spinning records along with water screens, bright lights, part projections and a colorful display of magic and fireworks. Picture Main Street U.S.A. completely transformed into a laser party/dance fest with the family.

Mickey’s Soundsational Parade

As if the mixing and spinning wasn’t enough, Mickey’s Soundsational Parade begins Jan. 25 and boasts fun and nostalgia on a grand scale — literally. Watch the honorable Mickey lead a parade of old-fashioned pull toys and symbols of the Disney of old. Chip ‘n’ Dale, along with a whole lineup of famous friends, will be there, too. After all, someone has to bring the cake.

Valentine’s Month

It’s not all about Mickey; however, Minnie gets in on the celebrations Jan. 22–Feb. 18, during Valentine’s Month. Disneyland Resort and park guests will find festive signs of love everywhere, from the Mouseflower at the park entrance to the Valentine décor covering Main Street. Get in on the fun with a scavenger hunt through Disneyland, designed by Minnie herself. Minnie’s Valentine Surprise includes a commemorative map with stickers available at participating shopping locations. Pick up Valentine clues and checkpoints along the way in order to win a surprise at the end with your completed map.

Speaking of shopping locations, throughout the park each store and dining option will boast mouse-themed treats and specialty items, only available for a limited time throughout the 90th anniversary year. Keep up with the World’s Greatest Mouse Party here and feel inspired to book that family vacation or day at the park. Don’t forget to bring your ears!
