The cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires has long been popular with travelers and offers a wealth of activities for everyone in the family. With a temperate year-round climate and sunny skies, anytime can be considered a good time to visit. And it’s filled with kid-friendly activities the entire family will enjoy.

Play in a Park

Though Buenos Aires is a thriving and lively city, you will find parks and sweeping green spaces throughout. Two to check out and in which to play are Tres de Febrero, the city’s largest and most popular park considered the place to relax and unwind on the weekends. The park also features a rose garden with more than 8,000 roses representing 93 species. Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve is more than 860 acres of green space and considered one of the world’s most important urban nature reserves.

Have a Laugh

More than 100 museums are found throughout Buenos Aires, and one your family may want to stop by is the Museo del Humor. Here, some of Argentina’s most popular comic strip artists have works on display, and they are sure to bring a smile or giggle, even if you don’t speak the language. For more comics, take the Comic Strip Walk and spot whimsical art along the way.

A Kid-Sized City

Your kids can enjoy a city their own size when you visit Museo de los Niños within the Abasto Shopping Center. Here, a city is recreated on a miniature scale, and during their visit, kids can pretend to be builders, doctors, cameramen, sailors, vets and more. While the museum is designed for kids up to the age of 12, it’s fun for the entire family.

Weird Science

Rather than signs reading “Do Not Touch,” the Participative Science Museum has signs that read, “Prohibido No Tocar,” which invites visitors to touch as much as they would like. Here, kids — and kids at heart — are encouraged to experiment and learn about electricity, physics, chemistry, art, music and more. Themed rooms in the museum include visual perception, mechanics, technology, natural forces, electricity, light, art, food and sound.

Ride a Bike

The Buenos Aires Tourist Board offers free, family-friendly guided bicycle tours on weekends and public holidays. The English and Spanish hour-long tours are available twice in the mornings, and travel through and past some of the city’s highlights, including the planetarium, rose garden and a stop at a magic tree! Cargo bikes are available, which can carry child passengers up to the age of 10.
