Where to Stay with Kids in Paris

Age Specific / Kids

One of the world’s most popular cities for tourists, Paris has plenty of hotels. But European hotel rooms are famously small, so finding one with family-sized rooms, connecting rooms or even ones large enough for a roll-away bed can be a bit trickier. Add the high prices that well-located hotels in any popular city charge and it’s a challenge finding one within a family’s budget. But, it’s not impossible. Here are some family favorites to try.

Near the Eiffel Tower

Of course the kids will want to go to the most iconic spot in Paris — the Eiffel Tower, and having a hotel in the nearby area on the Left Bank will give kids a sense of living in a real Paris neighborhood. On a quiet street a short walk from the tower, Hotel de Londres Eiffel has connecting rooms and a staff that welcomes families. For a great view of the Eiffel Tower, book a family suite on the sixth floor of Le Derby Alma. There are plenty of small restaurants nearby, as well as neighborhood shops and bakeries and you can get to all the city attractions from the Pont D’Alma Metro station, a five-minute walk away. Hotel Ares Paris is close to the La Motte Metro station, a 10-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and has a particularly helpful staff; it is surrounded by good places to eat.

Near the Louvre

Family-sized rooms at an affordable price are harder to find in the area near the Louvre, Notre Dame and other major Paris attractions, but they do exist. Between the Louvre and the Pompidou Center, Novotel Paris Les Halles has rooms and suites designed for families, with pull-out sofas. Family suites are great if the kids are older, and have sliding doors between the two adjoining rooms for a little more privacy; both rooms of the suites have TVs. An added convenience for those just arriving from Charles de Gaulle Airport is the hotel is next to Chatelet-Les Halles station, on a direct line from the airport. You can access the Metro there, too.

Near the Marais

Perhaps the most charming neighborhood in Paris is the Marais, where you’ll find small shops, cafés, delis and restaurants, along with several great attractions. Hotel Marais Home is a short walk from the Place de la Rebublique and its Metro station, and has a rooftop terrace and complimentary breakfast. A short walk beyond the Marais and opposite a park with a playground, the budget-friendly boutique Gardette Park Hotel features junior suites, as well as cribs and roll-away beds. They can even arrange baby sitting if you’d like a quiet dinner for two in one of the Marais bistros.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
