Travel Tips

During the presidentially proclaimed National Park Week, April 18–26, the National Park Foundation and travelers around the world can celebrate our nation’s parks.

Whether near or far from a beloved national park, Americans can show their appreciation for the parks and support for the natural wonders in more ways than just visiting, especially as this year’s National Park Week coincides with social distancing practice and various shutdowns. As such, be sure to check the rules and regulations for the specific park if you plan to visit.

Get Involved

But, of course, you want to visit. Find a park near you and see how you can help out or learn more from the experts. Some parks host volunteer events and community clean-ups, so check out each individual park’s site for more information and updates regarding weather, safety measures and more.

Get Social

During National Park Week, whether you’re able to visit your local park or not, you can always check in via social media. Stay caught up on news and plan a future trip, or post some favorite memories from your last trip and keep the park’s social in the loop.

Get Gear

While our nation’s parks always need physical support through volunteering and student services, donations are also appreciated. If you’d like to get a little souvenir from your good deed, check out apparel and accessories from shops like Parks Project, America’s National Parks, National Park Foundation Gift Shop, The Landmark Project and more.
