Bucharest, Brasov and Sibiu are among some of the more popular main city destinations in Romania and all offer amazing cuisine, skiing, shopping and accommodations. The vast forests of Brasov act as the perfect backdrop to the Bran castle, art museums and ethnography museum, while Sibiu is ideal for outdoor adventure and historic landmarks.
It’s no coincidence stories of vampires in medieval castles originated in Transylvania as it is littered with ancient fortresses. The palaces scattered over Romania require their own tour, as visitors come from all over the world to witness the beautiful, elaborate buildings. Historic towns such as Maramures are more like a walk through time displaying ornately carved gates, Gothic-style churches and primitive villages.
