Beginning this month, Turkish Airlines unveils its all new selection of in-flight toys for kids 12 years old and younger. Made from all-natural materials, Turkish Airlines will now offer completely eco-friendly toys and old-fashion trinkets for kids flying with the 4-star airline.
Sit back with your device or book while the kids entertain themselves, or join in with the little ones. The new toys, specifically designed for Turkish Airlines, were made in a vintage style and are made of cotton and wooden pieces — all manufactured according to the sustainability regimes established by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Of course, the toys may not entertain the kids for the entire flight, but they are a nice touch for young travelers. Between shows, movies and games, encourage the kids to play with the in-flight toys while concurrently educating them a bit on wildlife awareness, endangered species and conservation practices — as the new Turkish toys are in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund of Turkey
. Clearly, the green efforts go beyond just the manufacturing of the toys.
As most parents and guardians are well aware, the growing research on the harmful effects of plastic is difficult to avoid and Turkish, along with many other airlines, are becoming more and more committed to the environment.
As part of new sustainability practices and minimizing plastic use and other potentially harmful elements, Turkish Airlines offers a green revamp for kids and peace of mind for parents. The toy overhaul is a part of the growing effort of airlines working toward minimizing the negative impact of its operations. Even the smallest changes add up in giving back to the environment while attempting to combat climate change.
U.S. airlines including Southwest
, United and Virgin America have been frontrunners in improving sustainability practices and working toward a cleaner environment through even the smallest steps. By simply switching to digital maps and providing the same information while cutting back on paper use and waste, airlines have shifted to a more earth-conscious system. Even using lighter devices and tablets lightens the overall weight of the aircraft — saving energy, fuel and leaving a smaller carbon footprint on the environment.
And, of course, the toys are fun to play with, too.
