Santa’s getting ready to come in for a landing at Grand Velas in Mexico. Family travelers are invited to share in the season’s fun and festivities at family-friendly properties in Los Cabos, where Santa arrives by helicopter; and Riviera Maya, Riviera Nayarit and Velas Vallarta, where Santa’s memorable entrance will be made via parachute.
Teen-tailored activities include their own lounges fitted with video games, Xbox Kinect and karaoke, plus urban dance classes and dance battles, non-alcoholic mixology sessions and an Instagram Photo Tour. At Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, there’s a giant Jenga, ping pong, a climbing wall and an open-air terrace equipped with foosball and air hockey.

For younger guests, there’s the complimentary Kid’s Club, with plenty of engaging activities including Alebrijes Painting, traditional Huichol Beading, pinata-making workshops and Spanish lessons. The Kid’s Club at Los Cabos has a new treehouse theme, plus a snack bar and cinema, arts and crafts area, and an illuminated dance floor. Holiday activities include a Christmas tree lighting, caroling, Christmas performances and letter writing to Santa.
Travelers can enjoy in-suite Christmas trees, either pre-decorated or with plenty of ornaments for a family decorating session. Trees in suites at the Velas Vallarta property are arrayed with hand-crafted ornaments from the state of Michoacán guests can bring home as keepsakes. Cheerfully wrapped gifts for kids can be delivered to suites on Christmas morning, pre-selected from the resort’s online gift shop.
