Colleen Kelly is the diplomatic matriarch of an often nomadic family who aims to expose her kids to the humanity hidden in places most don't go. After nearly a decade in healthcare, Kelly left the field to pursue her passion for writing in September 2022. She’s a regular writer for Atlas Obscura, Fodors and Thrillist; a journalist for Pittsburgh Post Gazette; and more. She’s working on her first novel, The Beginners Guide to Going Home. Kelly keeps a home base in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which she prefers to avoid during winter.
