Norwegian Cruise Line’s Bahamas Waterpark Officially Opens

Family travelers onboard a Norwegian Cruise Line ship to the line’s private Bahamas island, Great Stirrup Cay, can now experience all-new Great Tides Waterpark. The waterpark debut marks one of the largest enhancements to the island in the company’s history.

The waterpark covers four main areas: Tidal Tower, Cliffside Cove, Wandering River and Splash Cay. At Tidal Tower, visitors find a 170-foot-tall tower featuring eight thrilling slides, including Tropical Spiral, the first Nautilus slide in the world with large spirals spinning riders into different directions; and Breakwater Blisters, an industry-first, dueling Master Blaster slides that propel inner tubes uphill through steep drops and twists.

Cliffside Cove, meanwhile, is home to Cliffside Leap, the industry’s first-ever and the Caribbean’s tallest cliff jumps at 10 and 15 feet high; The Great Slide, the Caribbean’s only family slide where four guests can go together; and The Fearless Falls, a series of slides dropping riders down from 5 feet above the water.

Guests can float down 800-foot-long Wandering River, complete with the industry’s first immersive tunnel and swim-up bar. And for more than 9,000 square feet of family fun, Splash Cay promises eight mini-slides, an oversized tipping bucket and other interactive water features.

In addition to these areas, Great Tides Waterpark also offers an expansive pool area; two swim-up bars; private cabanas; and complimentary loungers, umbrellas and splash pads.
