Cutting right to the chase and naming the tour after its description, the World’s First Zero Waste Adventure offers American safari adventures without all the waste, pollution and ecological disruption many tourism activities come with.
Departing July 6–12, 2019, 14 travelers venture on the Safari America: Yellowstone Country tour for an incredible experience, the first of its kind. By encouraging travelers to avoid one-time-use items, like portable condiment packages and non-biodegradable items like plastic straws, the adventure tour hopes to only end up with one small container of waste. By limiting the amount of waste accommodated by the group, travelers will be more mindful of what they need, make better choices on what to avoid the trip and make use of their toolkits.
The zero-waste toolkits provided include a myriad of ways for travelers to stay on track, from compostable napkins and paper goods to reusable water bottles, tote bags, mugs, cutlery and food containers by TerraCycle.

While these steps may be small and seemingly easy, it’s definitely a shift in the right direction for the travel industry. Guests receive the same great adventure experience through natural destinations, while leaving them as untouched and undisrupted as possible.
Knowing the average American produces nearly 4.4 pounds of trash each day, it couldn’t hurt for some travelers to bring these tips and tricks home.
