Celebrate the holidays with the family with a visit to at The New York Botanical Garden’s NYBG Glow, a new, nighttime, outdoor experience. Explore a glowing world of color and light — and plenty of room to spread out — with the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory’s façade a glittering canvas.
Colors, thousands of energy-efficient LED lights and installations enliven the gardens and collections. Loads of outdoor fun await in addition to the light show, including ice carvings, roving dancers, musicians and more. Steel pan drums will play 5–9 p.m., with spontaneous dance performances 5–8:30 p.m. More programs are still to be announced. Pine Tree Café will be open to purchase food or to warm up with hot chocolate or coffee.
NYBG GLOW will be held 5–10 p.m., on 14 dates: Nov. 27–28, Dec. 5, Dec. 12, Dec, 18–19, Dec. 26–30, and Jan. 1, 2 and 9. Timed-entry tickets must be purchased in advance; tickets are on sale now. General admission is $30 for adults and $18 for children ages 2–12. Safety precautions are in place.
NYBG is one of the world’s most comprehensive botanical gardens, in the Bronx, just 20 minutes from Midtown Manhattan.
