Cruising

American Queen Voyages plans to launch a new City Stay package in 2023, perfect for family travelers. The Vancouver and Victoria City Stay package offers guests a post-cruise experience in the British Columbia cities. The offer is available following sailings from Sitka, Alaska, to Vancouver, Canada, aboard Ocean Victory.

“Our inclusive pre-cruise hotel night has always drawn guests to deeply discover the embarkation city of their journey,” said Isis Ruiz, CCO, American Queen Voyages. “We are glad to grow these Ocean Victory voyage experiences with City Stay Package offerings, and magnificent British Columbia is a perfect setting.”

The offer allows guests to explore all Vancouver and Victoria have to offer. The experience is available as a three-day, two-night post-cruise option on Ocean Victory sailings on July 18; Aug. 8 and 29; and Sep. 19, 2023. The City Stay experience includes a hotel stay at Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria with daily breakfast, Vancouver city tour, choice of a Butchart Gardens Butterfly Gardens Tour or Victoria Hop-On Hop-Off Tour and hotel/airport transfer from Fairmont Empress Hotel. Guests also have access to a local concierge.

The post-cruise experience starts at $1,299 per person.

Experience the Night Sky Like Never Before in Oregon’s Outback

I’ve looked up at the night sky almost every night of my life and have always been fascinated by the way the experience changes from day to day and place to place. But on recent family travel to Oregon, I got to experience it like never before in the Oregon Outback. I was staying at the lovely Brasada Ranch in Powell Butte (not far from Bend) and, as the day came to a close, my group boarded a van with Wanderlust Tours and began the journey into a region of the Oregon desert known as the Oregon Outback.
