Many resorts are home to kids clubs, offering kid-specific toys, games and programming. However, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay takes the concept and gives it a meaningful update, using this space as an avenue to introduce young travelers to the area’s culture and natural world.
Christened Umah Rare, which means “house of children,” the resort’s newly opened space is built from locally sourced materials to match the sustainability-focused, eco-friendly programming. There are four play zones within Umah Rare, open daily, morning to late evening. An interior reading and activity space is outfitted with classic children’s toys such as a wood-carved train set and play kitchen, a child’s garden offers a wading pool and wooden climbing area, a private loft space is open for older children who want to watch a flick and a nursing area is outfitted for parents’ needs.
Activities are open to children aged 4–12, and they may attend programming on their own. Children younger than 4 may attend programming if accompanied by a parent or babysitter.
“Our objective is to inspire young minds, foster creativity and encourage a lifelong love for the environment,” said Randy Shimabuku, general manager, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay. “Our young guests will have the opportunity to engage with Balinese nature, arts and culture and learn about sustainability in a fun and meaningful way.”
