Travel Tips

In an effort to encourage future travel and continued brand loyalty, Delta Air Lines extends Medallion Status, Club Memberships and more to support SkyMiles members’ future travel plans.

A few highlights include Medallion Members enjoying their current status through 2021, as well as other program and card benefits extending between six months and one year.

The 12–month extension is Delta’s response to many customers frustrations in shifted or canceled travel plans in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic — with Delta’s flexibility, customer’s status doesn’t have to be on the list of things to worry about at the moment.

“On behalf of all of us at Delta, I want to thank our customers for your continued loyalty during these unprecedented times. While our focus is on keeping customers and employees safe and healthy today and always, you are a part of the Delta family and we know how important these benefits are to you,” said Sandeep Dube, senior vice president – customer engagement and loyalty, and CEO, Delta Vacations, Delta Air Lines. “That’s why as coronavirus continues to dramatically impact travel across the globe, you don’t have to worry about your benefits – they’ll be extended so you can enjoy them when you are ready to travel again.”

In the next few weeks, customers can expect the following updates without any required action on their part:

Medallion Members:

  • All Medallion Status for 2020 will be automatically extended for the 2021 Medallion Year.
  • All Medallion Qualification Miles from 2020 will roll over to 2021 to qualify for 2022 Medallion Status.
  • Delta Sky Club Individual and Executive memberships with a March 1 expiration or later will receive six additional months of Delta Sky Club access beyond their expiration date.

Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members:

If you have one of the following in your SkyMiles’ “My Wallet” valid now, or expired since March 1, Delta Air Lines is extending expiration dates offering additional time with benefits:

  • Delta SkyMiles Gold CardMembers with a $100 Delta flight credit will get a six-month extension beyond the current expiration date.
  • Delta SkyMiles Platinum CardMembers with Companion Certificates with an original expiration date March 1–June 30 can use them when they book and fly by Dec. 31. Those expiring July 1, 2020–April 1, 2021 will receive an additional six months beyond the current expiration date.
  • Delta SkyMiles Reserve CardMembers with Companion Certificates with an original expiration date March 1–June 30 can use them when they book and fly by Dec. 31. Those expiring July 1, 2020–April 1, 2021 will receive an additional six months beyond the current expiration date.
  • Delta SkyMiles Reserve CardMembers will also get a six-month extension to use their Delta Sky Club One-Time Guest Passes beyond their current expiration date.

  • SkyMiles members with Upgrade Certificates or $200 Travel Vouchers expiring after June 30 will receive an additional six months beyond the current expiration date.
  • SkyMiles Select members will receive a six-month extension to the Priority Boarding benefit and any unused drink vouchers.

6 Stroller-Friendly Cities in Europe

Families traveling with young children learn to be creative in getting strollers into seemingly impossible places. Some cities confound even the most determined parents: Innumerable bridges with steps are a challenge in Venice, and Lisbon’s hills seem insurmountable. Narrow or rough stone-paved streets are not stroller-friendly, either. Save those cities for another year and consider these instead.
