Bring the family to Las Qolqas in Peru for a family travel experience at an eco-resort. The newly opened property is located in the heart of Peru’s Sacred Valley.

Las Qolqas is situated in the ancient Andean town of Ollantaytambo, halfway between Cusco and Machu Picchu. The property celebrates immersive and purpose-driven travel experiences with a connection to the local culture.

Several accommodation options are available. The twin tent accommodates two guests, the family tent sleeps up to four people and the group tent can accommodate up to eight guests. The safari-style tents feature locally sourced elements, from the bed sheets to the shampoo. Read more about tent options here.

Set in a functional greenhouse, Las Qolqas’ restaurant offers modern, elevated Peruvian cuisine made with seasonal, local ingredients from nearby purveyors or from the property’s orchard. The chef teaches guided cooking lessons here as well.

Recharge with the resort’s wellness and spa program. The spa offers treatments utilizing local products with options including hot stone treatments, facials, sauna time and food-based scrubs. Guests may also enjoy the outdoor showers and hot tub overlooking a river running through the resort.

Explore the area with local guides. Hike the trails within 30 minutes of the property or book a guided walk with locals from a neighboring community. Horseback riding, rafting and other adventurous activities are available to book. Opt for a cultural experience including a concert from a local shaman or a traditional Andean ceremony. Check the website for all available activities.

Introduce the Family to Saudi Culture at the AlUla Camel Cup

Visiting Saudi Arabia means introducing the family to a country rich in culture and history, giving the kids experiences they won’t get anywhere else in the world. I spent several years living as an expat in this desert kingdom, and the experiences I had were not only completely unique but also helped shape my perspective on the world today.
