One new magazine you might see in an airport near you, FestWorld Magazine, is the first print magazine in the world completely devoted to music festivals around the world. Ideal for music fans, travel aficionados and even do-gooders, the magazine will launch March 9, 2019, and is already accepting subscribers. One-year subscriptions are $12, and $2 from every purchase goes toward helping end the opioid epidemic.
Created by the founder of FestPop.com, single-purchase issues are $5.99 each and include music festival reviews, travel guides, artist and producer interviews, music festival fashion, art, food and essentials. Think of the glory days of Rolling Stone and Spin magazine, but with a dedicated focus on live music and the overall experience of an event — some you may have never heard of.
Creators also put together the FestWorld Foundation, dedicated to helping end the opioid epidemic and addiction crisis in our country — one that has devastated families, communities and individuals at a staggering pace, as an average of 115 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose.
The foundation is dedicated to assisting in ground-level efforts in aiding with patient treatment, supporting recovery and assisting in education and research. While the magazine may appeal more to your teens and older children, it’s doing even more than just showcasing top music festivals around the world.
Another unique aspect of the magazine is the online version. Fans can plan a trip and book directly online. Travelers can shop hotels, flights, cars and a variety of vacation aspects, just like a tour-booking company. Guests of the site can also watch videos from previous festivals and TV-style entertainment dedicated to live music culture.
The online version and print publication could also be a great reference for parents who have a say in their child’s plans to visit a music festival. It’s a great way to educate yourself and be more aware of the kids’ interests.
The magazine will print quarterly and feature interesting and informative content exclusively about the music festival scene. FestWorld Magazine will be available at airports and music festivals across the globe. It may seem a little ironic for something surrounded around live music and festival culture to be dedicated to ending addiction, and in print form to boot, but it’s a novel idea for music fans seeking a more in-depth discussion than they currently receive.
