Use family travel time to take a virtual field trip this year. In hopes of empowering students to embrace STEAM and tackle D.I.Y. projects, Science Fair Central launched the Operation Build It Virtual Field Trip May 17, now available on-demand. Science Fair Central, an educational initiative from The Home Depot and Discovery Education, enables STEAM-powered classrooms and homes around the nation to prepare students for the careers of tomorrow.

“Children are by nature makers and doers. Their passion for STEM has the capacity to transform the world, and we are proud to partner with The Home Depot to help students develop the skills and know-how to tackle, and solve, any problem,” said Beth Meyer, vice president of social innovation, Discovery Education.
The Operation Build It Virtual Field Trip brings students and D.I.Y.ers together to show how to set up workshops anywhere and tackle real-life challenges. The field trip supports The Home Depot’s 25 years of efforts with its Kids Workshops. Best suited for students in grades 6–12, the Virtual Field Trip gives educators ready-to-go classroom activities, alongside an educator guide. Learn more here.
