Ring in the holidays in paradise with InterContinental Maldives Maamunagu Resort’s most immersive festive programming yet. Inspired by the surrounding Indian Ocean, these events are themed 12 Pearls of the Ocean, an elegant journey inviting guests to discover a new treasure each day. From Dec. 20, 2026 to Jan. 7, 2027, the 12-day celebration transforms the resort into a stage for live music, Champagne parties, family adventures, wellness rituals and culinary delights.
Festive programming unfolds over 12 consecutive days, each with its own theme, giving guests a reason to stay all the nights. Highlights include the Pearl of Welcome, kicking off the fun with the lighting of the resort’s Christmas tree Dec. 22; the Pearl of Togetherness on Christmas Eve, featuring sunset cocktails and a gala dinner under the stars; the Pearl of Joy on Christmas Day, complete with an appearance from Santa Claus on the shores of Maamunagau; Pearl of Discovery, featuring a vibrant island Christmas market; and the Pearl of Play, a lively lagoon party and moonlit dinner by the sea.
Families with younger children can also find an entire program designed around family programming. Activities include family gingerbread-house making, a pirate cruise, a kids’ fashion show, kite festival by the lagoon, kids cooking classes led by the resort’s culinary team, beach games, island photoshoots and the Pearl of the Maldives beach festival.
