Spring has finally arrived and, with it, the seasonal reopening of JW Marriott in Venice. This 5-star resort, which opened for the season March 11 after its routine winter closure, goes above and beyond the classic luxury the JW Marriott brand is known for, giving family travelers a standout experience for their Italian vacation.

Situated on a private island, guests arrive via private water taxi. Once there, you experience an opulent property with lush gardens and classic Venetian architecture at every turn. Everything about the resort, from farm-to-table culinary offerings crafted from the island’s own garden to the newly installed photovoltaic panels designed to cover 70 percent of the property’s energy usage, showcases JW Marriott’s efforts to preserve the delicate ecosystem of Venice without compromising on the luxury the brand is known for.

The resort’s location creates a unique level of privacy and comfort for families. Children can freely explore the lush nature of the island to their hearts’ content, and the dedicated family pool is perfect for a day in the water under the Mediterranean sun. Families can also enjoy the extra space and privacy that comes from the resort’s many suites and interconnecting rooms, many of which include the luxury of a private garden or plunge pool.

The on-site Sapori Cooking School has several classes each day so the whole family can learn some expert cooking skills, including how to make some classic Italian dishes and desserts. For the 2024 season, the cooking school has added a few new classes to its repertoire, including one that focuses on garden harvesting and one that lets you cook with the chef in a special Chef’s Table experience.

Kids will love classes designed with them in mind, like preparing a “Chic-nic” picnic basket. They get to make smoothies, salads and finger foods, then wrap them all up in a beautiful linen picnic cloth so they can enjoy a picnic lunch, handmade by them, on the lawn with their family.

The Kids Club gives kids a day full of activities that meet their specific interests and features and plenty of fun experiences to let them discover the magic of Venice. They can make their own Venetian masks, build a replica of Venice using toy building bricks, or spend the day playing games like swingball or badminton. The Recreation Team helps design the perfect program for your little ones so they can have fun being kids and making new friends.

With so many family-friendly offerings in a stunning landscape, it is no wonder this property earned the distinction of No. 2 resort in Europe. Whether you want to explore the city of Venice or simply relax amidst the beauty of a private island, this property offers the perfect solution for a family visiting one of Italy’s most prized destinations.
