Cleveland, Ohio, has a rich haunted history, and family travelers will find no shortage of Halloween experiences this season.
Buckland Museum of Witchcraft Magick & Occult
Founded in 1966, Buckland Museum of Witchcraft Magick & Occult is the country’s first museum of its kind. The site features a variety of exhibitions, like ancient Egyptian after-life dolls and artifacts from the Salem Witch trials, as well as rotating exhibits.
Can you survive a night in Cleveland’s most haunted location? Book an overnight stay at Franklin Castle and find out. The castle was built by German immigrant and banker Hannes Tiedemann. In the following years, many of his family members passed away in the house, generating early rumors of misfortune. Visitors and even paranormal TV shows who have stayed reported eerie whispers, crying, cold spots, doors slamming and shadowy figures around the property. The castle was featured on Ghost Adventures and Ghost Nation. Think you’re up for the challenge?
At The Haunted House Restaurant, guests are greeted by the smell of fresh popcorn, a box office-style host stand and servers dressed in theater usher uniforms. Every element of the space is inspired by classic horror films and features dishes named after classics like Nightmare on Elm Street corn, Poultrygeist sandwich and Texas Chainsaw burger. Keep an eye out for special appearances by characters like Michael Myers, Pennywise and Freddy Kruger.
Before the weather gets too cold, spend a day at Cedar Point. In fall, the theme park transforms into a Halloween wonderland for HalloWeekends. Kids will love Crazy Corn Box, Harvest Tractors, Howlin’ Hay Maze, Monstrous Mummy Pit, Tricky Corn Maze, crafts, costumed characters, trick-or-treating and more.

Sep 16, 2026On Location: Experience The Real-Life Settings of Your Favorite Films and TV Shows
Set-jetting is more than just a cute play on words. It’s a travel concept that lets you visit the real-life settings of some of your favorite movies and television shows. At one time you had to go someplace like Universal Studios in Hollywood to visit your favorite movie and television show sets. While you can still take studio tours (the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London is the place to go if you are a diehard fan of the Harry Potter franchise), these days there are filming locations all over the world, and the tourism industry makes visiting them in person as easy as buying a plane ticket.
