Camelback Resort and Blue Mountain Resort, both in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, invite family travelers to an exciting fall with a full lineup of mountain adventures, seasonal festivals and Halloween-inspired fun set against vibrant and colorful foliage.
Mountain Adventures
Experience Pennsylvania’s fall foliage at Camelback Mountain from above while zooming down the 1,000-foot Double Barrel Ziplines or 4,000-foot Zip Rider, the longest zip line in Pennsylvania. Take a ride on Pennsylvania’s only mountain coaster; go off-roading with UTV tours; try Sunbowl Tube; and experience Treetops Adventure Course, a three-level, aerial obstacle course.
Over at Blue Mountain Resort, take a scenic ride on Comet Quad Chairlift, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Check out Summit Adventure Park featuring zip lining, high ropes courses, rock climbing, laser tag and disc golf. The park even offers select nighttime climbing and zip lining experiences. Families with cyclists should head to Blue Mountain Downhill Bike Park, the largest lift-served downhill bike park in the state. The park features 24 miles of trails across 30 runs for riders of all ages and skill levels. Additionally, every Sunday in October, the resort will host Fall Foliage Fest weekends, offering mountaintop pumpkin patches, carving areas, a kid’s zone, live music and seasonal family activities.
Fall Festivals
Blue Mountain Resort’s Oktoberfest takes place Sept. 26 and 27, featuring German-inspired cuisine, seasonal beverages, live music and family-friendly experiences. Coffee lovers will want to check out the Coffee Festival Oct. 17, offering coffee tastings from local coffee shops, live music and scenic mountain views.
Fall Frights and Halloween Fun
On Friday and Saturday nights in October, Blue Mountain Resort hosts its Fright Time Zip and Climb experiences at Summit Adventure Park. Participants can try one of five high ropes courses, then soar through the treetops on a zip line. The event also features laser lights, glow sticks and Halloween decor.
These events lead up to the Monster Ball Oct. 31, where guests are invited to break out their best costumes at an event with live entertainment, dinner and costume contests.
