If a family trip isn’t on your radar this summer, it may be difficult to keep kids entertained. Luckily, there are plenty of other fun and affordable ways to keep the family busy this summer. Matt Jones, CEO, WonderDays, shares some tips and daytrips for kids of all ages.
Zoo Visits
Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Introduce your kids to nature at your local zoo. By visiting a zoo, kids can see rare and exotic animals up close. Not only can kids marvel at the stunning animals, but they can also learn more about the animal itself, its habitats and the environment. Most zoos also have play areas for kids to run around and get their energy out before heading home.
Museums
For a more educational trip, take your children to a nearby museum. Plenty of cities and destinations have children’s museums offering hands-on activities and experiences that allow kids to explore and play while learning. Whether your family is into history, science or art, there is a museum out there for each family.
Before setting out on your trip, check out some of Matt’s tips for a successful outing:
- Check admission fees and hours of operation
- For outdoor activities, review the weather to plan accordingly
- Bring snacks, drinks, sunscreen and any other materials you may need
- Pack a first-aid kit just in case
