Apr 25, 2019Ugly Tours Through Europe
Finding the beauty in an iconic city like Rome, London Prague or Paris is easy — just look around. See the jaw-dropping sites of the Coliseum or the Sistine Chapel on a summertime trip; take an obligatory photo on the South Bank with Big Ben in the distance; savor the Prague Castle visits; or stroll the stunning streets of Paris in the springtime. For something with a little different perspective, but still with a scenic view, U.K.-based cycling tour company Freewheel Holidays has options for your active family.

Best of Both Worlds
Enjoy the best of both worlds when you fly with TAP Air Portugal thanks to the Portugal Stopover program. With the program, TAP passengers, whether traveling for business, leisure or both, can stop in Portugal for up to 10 days at no additional airfare on the way to their final destination. What does this mean for travelers wishing to explore by both land and sea? It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.

Mar 12, 2019Relais Bernard Loiseau
I’m an unabashed Francophile, a former French teacher and a frequent traveler to France. After seven trips to Burgundy, traveling by car and on barge and riverboat cruises with my late husband or with friends, I returned alone, last September, to experience the vendange (grape harvest). I was in the vineyards and wine cellars at Olivier Leflaive and Chateau de Pommard, and met winemakers, innkeepers, sommeliers, a masseuse and a mustard-maker at Fallot, in Beaune. And, after many years on my bucket list, I finally had the opportunity to stay at a famous gastronomic destination, Relais Bernard Loiseau. It also happens to be a warmly welcoming, family-friendly, family-operated inn with two indoor swimming pools, located in the naturally scenic region of the Morvan forest, with its granite mountains, lakes and outdoor adventures.
