A new dinosaur-themed water park opens in Farmington, New Mexico
, later this summer and it’s the perfect fit for families who’re fans of Jurassic Park or dinos of all types. Bisti Bay Water Park gets its name from the Bisti Badlands and De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area, a nearby attraction that was historically a dinosaur-filled swamp. Active families can visit the new water park at Brookside Park in Farmington for interactive fun for all ages.
What can you expect at the new park? So far, plans include a lazy river, perfect for some relaxation; interactive playgrounds with water guns and water buckets; twin, 26-foot water slides; a small lap pool; a zero-depth entry pool; ninja ladders; a toddler-friendly small slide and water table for new swimmers; three shaded pavilions for drying off; event facilities; and food trucks for local cuisine on the go. It’s all themed around dinosaurs and dinosaur digs, with a special focus on the Jurassic period; special attention is given to other local attractions, like the area’s hoodoos (undulating rock formations) and Shiprock Pinnacle.
